JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

Work Site: 101 W. Waukau Ave, Oshkosh, WI 54902

Pay: Starting at $16.59/hr.; after 31st actually worked day/completion of probationary period = $17.36/hr.; 6 months raise =$17.65/hr.; 12 months raise = $18.36/hr.

Duration/Usual Hours Per Week: Permanent, full-time, 40 hours/week minimum

Shift/Work Days: First Shift. Monday-Friday. 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM.

Overtime: Voluntary; for all hours worked in excess of eight(8) in any workday; for hours worked in excess of forty (40) in a workweek; or for Saturday work (typically 5 hour shifts if offered).

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operate an assigned number of bobbin winding machines to produce wound coils for a variety of electrical transformers. Perform soldering, crimping, hookup, riveting, dipping, baking, testing, and packing operations as needed for smooth process flow.
  • Receive direction from Supervisor and instruction relative to work assignment. Work from established job specifications. Follow specific procedures, written and verbal instructions.
  • Load magnet wire on machine and thread through tension device to winding head, as required. Load bobbin on arbor in machine and attach start wire. Wind specified number of turns with proper tension, following instruction on coil winding specification sheet. Machine stops automatically, secure finish wire. Tape over winding as required and remove coil from machine. Reset machine for next operation and repeat process.
  • Use side cutter, wire stripper, scraper, soldering iron or pot, drill press, wrenches, scissors, scale, low lift hand truck, skids, containers, carts, etc., and applicable hand tools. Make minor adjustments, check for correct wire and number of turns to assure smooth production. Requisition or replenish work cell materials and supplies as assigned.
  • Cut wire leads to proper length, strip, solder, crimp and tape, as required. Apply protective cover to leads and terminals as required. Dip coils, bake coils, and remove excess dipping material as necessary.
  • Make specified point to point hook ups, set dials or switches to prescribed settings. Determine acceptance or rejection by comparison of established data or reading indicating lights and pass on notification to Repair Personnel or advise proper Supervisor. Fill out preliminary and final inspection reports, rejection, repair and move tickets. Rubber stamp/label units and pack units in specified shipping cartons and seal boxes as assigned.
  • Perform other duties, in accordance with production workload requirements, as assigned. Detect faulty operation or equipment, discrepancies in material, specifications or other unusual conditions and report to proper Supervisor. Maintain work area in neat and orderly condition. Make out time and production reports. Observe all prescribed safety regulations.

Experience & Qualifications

Over 6 months up to and including 9 months of experience desired. Requires the use of specifications, schedules, and instructions with an aptitude for machine loading and unloading operations performed in sequence and internal to machine operation. Some judgment is required to maintain continuity of production. Light physical effort required to perform assigned work; equivalent to continuously lifting or moving very light weight material. Continuous mental and visual attention required to perform assigned work that is repetitive and requires constant alertness.
