Pay: Starting at $17.33/hr., with wage rate progression to $17.89 upon 31st actually worked day & an additional wage rate progression to $18.34 at 6 months, $18.67 at 12 months and $18.99 at 18 months of employment


Duration/Usual Hours Per Week: Permanent, Full-Time, 40 Hours Per Week Minimum


Shift/Work Days: First Shift Only, Monday-Friday: 6:30AM to 3:00 PM


Overtime: Voluntary; for all hours worked in excess of eight (8) in any workday; for hours worked in excess of forty (40) in a workweek; or for Saturday work (typically 5 hour shifts if offered).

  • Perform a variety of assembly operations concerned with the manufacture of telephone neutralizing transformers in accordance with engineering and customer specifications.
  • Work from bills of material, specifications, drawings, wiring diagrams, established practices and procedures. Use pneumatic hand tools, knock-out punch, riveter, impact wrenches, plastic welders, electric drill, wire strippers, and other related mechanic’s hand tools. Interpret work orders, specifications, and drawings, and perform modification to panels, enclosures, and hardware to accommodate assembly specifications. Collaborate on major unit orders and complex units.
  • Lay out materials in accordance with established procedures and as directed. Select applicable components and subassemblies. Perform wet laminating process by dipping lamination assembly into varnish bath and setting aside for drying. Operate low lift hand truck to move, position and assemble transformers. Perform preliminary and final test of coils for breakdown, continuity, and excitation current.
  • Use brackets, core clamps and other mounting hardware to fasten and secure transformers, noise chokes, or completed subassemblies to panels or enclosures as prescribed. Make point-to-point connections of multi-wire harness assemblies in accordance with specified color codes and unit specifications.
  • Assemble and seal burial type telephone transformers as well as others in development. Prepare completed units and sections for final inspection and shipment.




Over 9 months up to and including 12 months of assembly experience desired. Requires the use of specifications, work orders, drawings, bills of material, and wiring diagrams that require interpretation. Some judgment is required to select and assemble components, subassemblies and units, prepare completed units for final inspection and shipment in accordance with established methods and instructions. Moderate physical effort required to perform assigned work. Equivalent to continuously lifting or moving light weight material. Continuous mental and visual attention required to perform assigned work.
