Work Site: 101 W. Waukau Ave, Oshkosh, WI 54902

Pay:  Starting at $16.08/hr.; after 31st actually worked day/completion of probationary period = $16.83/hr.; 6 month wage rate progression = $17.65/hr.

Durations/Usual Hours Per Week: Permanent, full-time. 40 hours/week minimum

Shift/Work Days: First Shift. Monday-Friday. 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM.

Overtime: Voluntary; for all hours worked in excess of eight(8) in any workday; for hours worked in excess of forty (40) in a workweek; or for Saturday work (typically 5 hour shifts if offered).

  • Perform limited in-line or bench assembly operations, as assigned, to one or more but not all operations required to assemble and prepare a variety of transformers and/or transformer components for further processing.
  • Tools and equipment used or operated include dimpling machine, hand operated cutoff shear, drill press, rotary wire brush, solder iron, solder pot, pliers, spin-tighteners, hammer, wrenches, continuity meter, powered screw and nut drivers, crimper, low lift hand truck, skids, containers and carts etc.
  • Perform assigned line or bench assembly operations in accordance with prescribed sequence of operations, established methods and procedures. Assemble components such as C-cores, channel frames, covers, copper bands, terminals, terminal boards, screws, nuts, various other hardware and insulation materials. Cut leads to proper length, strip. solder, crimp and tape. Gauge and square transformers, mount brackets, and applicable component parts. Perform hand-laminating operations to finish off a stack or laminate an entire stack, as assigned.
  • Protect lugs, brackets and tie leads for impregnating operations. Clean impregnating materials from mounting surfaces, terminals, leads or other portions of transformers.

Experience & Qualifications

Up to and including 3 months of experience desired. Requires the use of simple writing, adding, subtracting of whole numbers and the carrying out of instructions.  Use fixed gauges and direct reading instruments and devices where interpretation is not required.

Perform bench assembly operations in accordance with established methods and as instructed.  Some judgment is required to comply with instructions and established methods and procedures. Light physical effort required to perform assigned work. Continuous mental and visual attention required to perform assigned work that is usually repetitive.
