Duties and Responsibilities of the Job:

  • Perform a limited variety and number of coil winding operations, winding primary and secondary portions of transformers, that comprise wire sizes coarser than 15 gauge. Receive direction and instruction relative to work assignment from Supervisor.
  • Operate single or multiple coil winding machinery to wind these portions of transformer, following instructions and coil winding specification sheet. Wind specified number of wire turns, busbar or copper strip with proper tension, wrap insulation between layers and solder, braze, weld or crimp, splice, and fasten leads or other subassemblies to coil as specified.  Operate coil winding machinery and related equipment such as welder, brazing torch, electric brakes and hydraulic tools as required.  Make adjustments to machinery and tools as needed and required.
  • Use a variety of hand tools such as solder iron, hot glue gun, hammer, bolt cutters, aviation shears, scrapers, grinders and side cutters, wrenches, dividers, scales and pliers. Load and unload machines, wire racks and tensions, string up wire through wire guides and/or splice for continuous operation, move completed units to next operation. Use winding fixtures and arbors, hoists, low-lift hand truck and other lifting devices.
  • Detect faulty operations and equipment, defective materials, shortages, discrepancies in material or specifications and report to Supervisor. Make out time and production reports.

Minimum Requirements of Employer:

  • Education: High School Diploma/GED Equivalent Required
  • Age: 18 or older Required
  • Experience/Qualifications: Over 1 year up to and including 2 years of experience desired. Frequent lifting or moving of light weight material. Good hand/eye coordination & manual dexterity. Continuous mental and visual attention required to perform assigned work.

Position Details:

  • Work Site: 101 West Waukau Ave. Oshkosh, WI 54902
  • Pay: Starting at $14.04/hr., after 31st actually worked day/completion of probationary period = $14.68/hr.; 6 months raise =$14.99/hr.; 12 months raise = $15.30/hr.; 18 months raise = $15.60/hr. for Year 1.
  • Durations/Usual Hours Per Week: Permanent, full-time, non-exempt. 40 hours/week minimum
  • Overtime: Voluntary; for all hours worked in excess of eight(8) in any workday; for hours worked in excess of forty (40) in a workweek; or for Saturday work (typically 5 hour shifts if offered).
  • Shift/Work Days: First Shift. Monday-Friday. 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM.
