JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

Work Site: 101 W. Waukau Ave, Oshkosh, WI 54902

Pay:  Starting at $16.59/hr.; after 31st actually worked day/completion of probationary period = $17.36/hr.; 6 month wage rate progression = $17.65/hr.; 12 month wage rate progression = $18.36/hr.

Durations/Usual Hours Per Week: Permanent, full-time. 40 hours/week minimum

Shift/Work Days: First Shift. Monday-Friday. 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM.

Overtime: Voluntary; for all hours worked in excess of eight(8) in any workday; for hours worked in excess of forty (40) in a workweek; or for Saturday work (typically 5 hour shifts if offered).

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform insulation cutting operations, as assigned, to produce various sized insulation materials used in the manufacturing process of electrical transformers.
  • Work from established job specifications, departmental work sheets and component make orders, in accordance with prescribed practices and procedures, written and verbal instructions.
  • Operate and use paper cutting equipment, foot operated shear, scissors, micrometer, scale, calculator and applicable equipment and hand tools.
  • Select specified materials, calculate amount of material to be used, adjust cutting machinery and complete operation.
  • Bundle, identify, store, or deliver cut materials.
  • Maintain proper level of oil and grease in paper cutting machinery.
  • Perform other related duties in accordance with workload requirement.

Experience & Qualifications

Over 6 months up to and including 9 months of experience desired. Requires the use of reading, writing and performing simple arithmetic calculations in decimals and fractions. Use charts, specifications, schedules and adjustable measuring instruments. Perform insulation shearing operations on various sizes of insulation material. Some judgment is required to adjust machine and cut required amount of material in accordance with established procedures and instructions. Light physical effort required to perform assigned work; equivalent to continuously lifting or moving very light weight material. Continuous mental and visual attention required to perform assigned work that is repetitive and requires constant alertness.
