Job Description Summary

Responsible for assigning, directing, supervising and working with assigned plant maintenance and service personnel, under the general direction of the Plant/Maintenance Manager. Responsibilities comprise shift security of the plant and facilities; start-up and shut down of facilities and equipment in accordance with operating schedules; and the maintenance and janitorial service to buildings, grounds, systems and equipment. Confer with Plant/Maintenance Manager to receive and discuss work orders and specific job instructions. Assume supervisory responsibilities of production areas in the absence of the regularly assigned Supervisor. Change die sets frequently on hydraulic presses. Fabricate repair parts as required for machinery. Troubleshoot and repair operating equipment and machinery as needed. Enforce sound safety policies and procedures and assure that safety regulations are adhered to. Perform other related duties as assigned or associated with the responsibility. Minimum Requirements/Qualifications of Employer

Education: Knowledge of maintenance trades such as painting, repair and refurbishing, pipe fitting, electrical, carpentry, millwright and fabricating. Familiar with heating, air conditioning, machine scrubbing and scarifying, and material handling. Equivalent to high school plus combined technical and practical training comparable to a formal apprenticeship or Associates degree in Electro-mechanical Technology desired.

Experience: Over 4 years up to and including 5 years of maintenance experience; 2-5 years of supervisory skills preferred. At least one year of MIG and TIG welding experience preferred. Ability to read and understand schematics(electrical hydraulic engineering blue prints) as needed to perform work.

Licenses/Certifications/Registrations: Valid Drivers License required. Journeyman card desired.

Other Qualifications: Strong interpersonal and problem solving skills. Adaptable to changing priorities. Machine shop skills desired (lathe/milling machine/shear, etc.). Considerable judgment is required to devise new or modify and adapt existing practices and procedures to meet unusual or emergency situations.
